Tom Holland and Zendaya were advised not to date by Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal: ‘They all ignored me’
Tom Holland and Zendaya’s romance almost didn’t happen after a Spider-Man producer urged them not to date.
The Spider-Man star and the Euphoria actress, both 25, were reportedly advised to keep their relationship platonic by producer Amy Pascal when they were first cast in Spider-Man, according to The New York Times on Friday.
‘I took Tom and Zendaya aside, separately, when we first cast them and gave them a lecture,’ Pascal said. ‘Don’t go there — just don’t. Try not to.’

The Venom producer’s warning clearly fell on deaf ears — and it isn’t the first time its happened.
‘I gave the same advice to Andrew [Garfield] and Emma [Stone],’ the producer revealed. ‘It can just complicate things, you know? And they all ignored me.’
Garfield and Stone met on the set of the 2012 movie The Amazing Spider-Man. Rumors came out that the two were dating in 2011, and they remained together for a few years before apparently breaking up in 2015.
As for the two current Spider-Man stars, their relationship is fairly new. The two were spotted kissing in Los Angeles back in July and made their red carpet debut recently.

Their new movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, was released in theaters in the United States and the United Kingdom on Friday.

Spider-Man: No Way Home was released to rave reviews and has already made millions at the box office.
While their new movie is already something of a success, both stars have a number of other projects on the way as well.
