That 90’s Show, a spin-off from the hit comedy That 70’s Show, has officially been announced and is currently in production at Netflix with actors Courtwood Smith and Debra Joe Rabe returning to play their respective roles as Red and Kitty Foreman. Set in the year 1995, the series tells the story of Leah Foreman, the daughter of Eric and Donna, who visits Red and Kitty in the summer.
That 70’s Show creators Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner join the project as executive producers. Greg Mettler, who worked on the original series, will be the series’ general supervisor. Netflix has ordered ten episodes of the series.
The original series was released in 1998 and ran for 8 seasons and ended in 2006. It starred Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Topher Grace, and others who were a group of friends hanging out in Foreman’s basement. There is no word on the rest of the That 90’s Show cast and whether the stars of the old series will be joining them as guests.
And this isn’t the first attempt at creating a spin-off from That 70’s Show. During the show’s original run, That 80’s Show was released, which released only 13 episodes.
