The Oswald Club is one of the most exclusive clubs for members in London, and they don’t even have a social media account.

The club on Albemarle Street in Mayfair is popular with wine connoisseurs and is owned by Robin Burley, whose father named the Annabelle Club of Famous Members after his socialite wife – Lady Annabelle Goldsmith.

Oswald attracts the likes of Dame Joan Collins, Priti Patel, David Beckham and Earl of Snowdon, and is where Amber Heard was seen partying during the Supreme Court in Johnny Depp’s defamation lawsuit against a newspaper last year.

Prince William’s appearance comes amid allegations he has sparked outrage over the broadcast of a BBC 2 documentary on ‘unfounded’ allegations that he and his crew briefed the media on Harry and Meghan.

The BBC has reportedly refused to allow William as well as Buckingham Palace and Clarence House – the families of the Queen and Prince of Wales – to watch the two-part program in advance, even though the company has offered a “right of reply”.

The first episode of the Princes and the Press program detailed the media coverage of the royal family’s youth from 2012 to 2018 and how they were affected by what happened to their late mother.

She noted that there was a ‘competition’ between the different royal families, and according to Omid Scobey, co-writer of Harry and Meghan’s biography, Finding Freedom, negative stories were deliberately leaked against Meghan ‘to put her in her place’.
