After Nintendo announced a price cut for the Switch in Europe, some gamers were interested in seeing a similar decision for the rest of the world, but it looks like that won’t happen.
Nintendo tells me yesterday’s Switch price drop was just for Europe (and the UK):
“The trade price adjustment is for the European region only. There are no plans to change the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price for any Nintendo Switch model in the US”

Media Stephen Totilo says that he obtained an official statement from the company confirming that the same strategy is not taken outside Europe, but that the price reduction is limited only to European countries (and the United Kingdom) and there is no plan to change the price of the device in the United States.
Perhaps because the price reduction in Europe occurred for special reasons that the company previously talked about, such as currency exchange rates and others.
