In 2019, the fighting game Mortal Kombat 11 was available across home devices and PC, and the game was able to perform well, both in terms of sales or even in terms of the positive reviews it got, which prompted the development studio NetherRealm to support the game throughout the last period. And last July, the studio came out and finally announced the end of its support for the game and began working on a new project without revealing the identity of this new title or any details related to it, but it seems that the studio will not leave away from the Mortal Kombat series.
According to a job application, NetherRealm wants a capable designer and animator with experience in developing martial arts games and fighting titles, and although this is just a small description of the new NetherRealm project, the formula is used exactly the same in the studio’s job listings. Before the announcement of Mortal Kombat 11, this confirms the rumors that the next NetherRealm studio game will be Mortal Kombat 12.
It is reported that journalist Jeff Grubb pointed out during an episode of GrubbSnax last August, based on what he heard, Mortal Kombat 12 is the new game that NetherRealm is working on, with WB Games confidence in this big title. And that it won’t be Injustice 3 or even a Marvel or DC fighting game, as some rumors have mentioned.
