She has been politically separated since she left Downing Street in tears over Brexit.

And last night, Theresa May took off again – on the dance floor – when she unleashed Maybut to celebrate winning an award for her political work.

The former prime minister unleashed her famous robot dance routine after receiving this year’s Backbencher Award from Spectator magazine.

Mrs. May was mocked when she first cut some rugs in front of stunned schoolchildren on a trip to South Africa.

But she has since claimed it was a privileged move to cut her stifling image at times – including at the Conservative Party conference.

Last night, I took to stage at ABBA’s classic Dancing Queen disco in a lavish party at London’s Rosewood Hotel attended by MPs from all over Westminster.

Since leaving power in July 2019, she has been a vocal critic of Boris Johnson’s government while speaking out on a number of issues.

Accepting the award, she joked, “Thank you to all my fellow parliamentarians who confirmed I was on the bench – some of you are here tonight.”

In 2018, Ms May made headlines after she was photographed grotesquely moving in front of a group of schoolchildren in South Africa, ahead of her second show days later in Kenya.

Mrs. May has been nicknamed The Maybot due to the lack of fluidity in her dance moves.

She has demonstrated independence of thought since her return to the position of MP for Maidenhead.

She accused Johnson of lacking “moral leadership” after he slashed the foreign aid budget and threatened to break international law in Brexit talks.

She also criticized the withdrawal from Afghanistan in August, and last week condemned the prime minister’s maneuvering over Owen Patterson’s slow suspension of suspension as poorly judged and completely wrong.
