The Atlanta native recently spoke out about the treatment of his friend Young Thug after he and several other people with ties to YSL were arrested on RICO charges.

‘YSL is a family. YSL is a label. YSL is a way of life. YSL is a lifestyle. YSL is not a gang. YSL is not a criminal [organization]. YSL is not a street gang. YSL is not a mob,’ he wrote at the time.

Young Thug and 27 others were arrested earlier this week on suspicion of gang involvement and conspiracy to violate the Georgia criminal racketeering law.

According to The New York Times, the indictment alleges that Young Thug, born Jeffrey Williams, founded Young Slime Life, a gang started in Atlanta in 2012 with connections to the Bloods.

It also alleges that members of YSL were ‘involved in a wide variety of illegal activities, including witness intimidation, murder, attempted murder, carjacking, robbery, theft and drug dealing.’

Young Thug insists he never committed any crime and that YSL is not a street gang.
