With her partner Cristiano Ronaldo amassing her own fortune of £20 million, fans of Georgina Rodriguez will not be surprised by her luxurious world of mansions, sports cars, yachts, designer clothes and expensive jewellery. However, her life was not always so luxurious.
Just seven years ago, Ms Rodriguez, then 20, had a more frugal life as a husband in Bristol, earning just £125 a week, The Mail on Sunday reveals.
While working as a nanny, she took English and dance lessons and, despite her meager pay, says today the experience left her dreaming of returning to Britain.
The circumstances of the Spanish model have certainly changed. After signing Ronaldo with Manchester United this summer, she arrives in Cheshire with her four children – plus two more on the way next year – to find that her neighbors now include the likes of Wayne Rooney, Raheem Sterling and Harry Maguire.

The 27-year-old is now being dubbed the next ‘Super WAG’ – a term coined by those in football circles for wives or girlfriends like Victoria Beckham, who are big stars in their own right. Not only is Ms. Rodriguez about to star in a poverty-to-riches series revolving around her life on Netflix, but she is increasingly being targeted by British brands who are happy to pay her huge sums to promote their products. She has millions of fans.
Sources close to Rodriguez – the most-followed Spanish woman on social media, with a host of international deals from Shegum cosmetics to Swiss cosmetics brand Gisada and Italian bikini company Effek – say she is absolutely intent on cracking Britain.
In the UK, it will look to build on deals with Manchester-based fashion brand Pretty Little Thing – part of the Boohoo empire – and UK-based yoga company Alo Yoga. She has also started writing her Instagram posts in English instead of Spanish (or at least writing them in both languages).
Fashion designers shout to wear Georgina, jewelers lend her diamonds
Fashion designers like Gucci demand her dress, and luxury jewelers Chopard loan her diamonds knowing their brand will get a coveted display on Ms. Rodriguez’s Instagram page.
Meanwhile, editors of British glossy magazines plan to make her a cover star in 2022 – a move that has long been seen as a gateway to celebrity becoming a household name.
One fashion insider said: ‘Don’t be surprised if you see Georgina in Vogue sometime next year. She’s beautiful, she has a great story to tell, and more than anything, she’s someone that people are really starting to talk about.
Ms. Rodriguez was featured on the cover of this month’s Spanish edition of Cosmopolitan. Wearing a pink sequined dress, Karma credits her with Ronaldo, saying, ‘I believe strongly in fate but more in karma. What you give you get.

To craft an image that would appeal to the British public, Ms. Rodriguez hired Caroline McAteer, a London-based publicist who launched Brand Beckham in the late 1990s alongside Posh and Becks director Simon Fuller, who also works with Frank Lampard. Jack Grealish and Ronaldo.
The model’s flawless WAG credentials were on display Thursday night when she posted a video to Instagram of her “sex reveal” event for her unborn twins.
The couple’s four children – Cristiano Jr, Eva, Matteo and Alana – learn that their new siblings are a boy and a girl after opening two balloons to find one filled with blue confetti and the other pink.
She was an ordinary young woman who changed her life drastically
The background to the video was a perfectly decorated Christmas tree and a huge white spiral staircase in the family’s £3m Cheshire mansion. Ms Rodriguez also posted a photo on Instagram of Cristiano Jr, Eva, Mateo (Ronaldo’s children by an American surrogate) and Alana – who is Ms Rodriguez’s daughter with the footballer – visiting Lapland to see Father Christmas.
Meanwhile, rumors of tension between Ms. Rodriguez and her potential mother-in-law have evaporated. In an interview with a Portuguese magazine, Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, who may join the family at Christmas, said: “She is a good girl and supports a great Cristiano.”
Rodriguez met Ronaldo, 36, five years ago while working as a shop assistant at a Gucci store in Milan.
Born in Buenos Aires, Ms. Rodriguez moved to Spain with her father Jorge, who was imprisoned for cocaine smuggling in 2003 when she was nine years old. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison and released in 2013. After her father went to prison, Ms. Rodriguez lived a modest life with her mother, Maria Hernandez, and her sister, Ivana, who herself became an Instagram star.
Rodriguez remembered that as a young woman she would help her elderly neighbors with their shopping.

Even today, though she enjoys the trappings of fame and fortune, she helps poor young women who want to leave home and study to “find their dreams and achieve their goals”.
The upcoming show featuring the model is “ambitious,” says Alvaro Diaz, director of entertainment for Netflix Spain, noting how Ms. Rodriguez has switched from selling designer clothes to wearing her own clothes on red carpets. “She was an ordinary young woman whose life changed dramatically one day,” he said.
She was leaving work one day and expressed the love of her life. Who among us has not dreamed of that?
Netflix had planned to show the series before Christmas, but Ronaldo’s move from Turin – where he played for Juventus – to the UK in September provided producers with rich additional material.
The documentary will now go into more detail about the couple’s move to Britain and how they settled after Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford 18 years after he first arrived there as a teenage sensation. Crucially, this should increase the attractiveness of the new British market to Rodriguez.
The documentary will follow Ms. Rodriguez as she attends the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix and cheers for Ronaldo at last summer’s Euros. Some private life of the footballer will be shown on the screen, but according to sources, he plays only a minor role.
“There will be a lot of private jets,” says one insider.
Glitter sparkles will drip but there will also be a weird avalanche. Georgina will give full information on what her life really looks like, and there will be the ups and downs of motherhood. Sources said the show would also address Ms Rodriguez’s concerns that her wedding day may never come. Ronaldo reportedly proposed to her in 2018 a diamond ring valued at £615,000, but the couple have yet to set a date.
Which feels like just some kind of cliffhanger to hit on a second Netflix series to make Mrs. Rodriguez the new WAG to control them all.
