The Apple Watch Series 7 was one of the many announcements made during Apple’s California Streaming event, as it took the stage along with the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, the new iPad mini with USB-C charging, and more.
The watch comes in a new size of 41 and 45 millimeters, moving away from the 40 and 44 millimeters that have been standard for the past few generations of Apple Watch.
As expected, the company has updated its stock Online watch straps according to the new sizes. But many of them no longer list the 38, 40, 42 and 44 millimeter size options for all belts.
Although at first glance it may seem that the company has unofficially canceled support for all previous models. But did not.
However, the company made it even more confusing to quickly find an accessory designed for your watch size. And if you see a strap you like in the 41mm size, that implies that it works with the 38mm and 40mm chassis as well.
The 45-millimeter straps work with Apple Watch models that have either a 42- or 44-millimeter case. And to make sure you get a size that matches your watch, the company’s website provides compatibility details right below the size options. So be sure to click that if you’re skeptical.

Buying new Apple Watch straps just got more confusing
Shopping for Solo Loop belts is a bit more complicated. But there is nothing new there. These bands are compatible with Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch Series 4 and later models only.
And for Apple Watch models that are 40 and 41 millimeters in size, you can get Solo Loop straps in the one through nine size range, while the 44 and 45 millimeter models work with band sizes four through 12.
And Solo Loop straps require you to measure the size of your wrist to find the size that matches the company’s sizing guidelines.
Bands designed smaller than the new two sizes work with previous, smaller Apple Watch models, and vice versa.
Having a larger Apple Watch strap ensures that it primarily works with earlier wearables that were the largest size option of their generation.
