A 24-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Bobby Ann MacLeod, who disappeared from a bus stop in Plymouth on her way to meet her boyfriend on Saturday.

Her body was discovered Tuesday afternoon near the beach in Bovisand, about seven miles from where she was last seen.

Devon and Cornwall police said this morning that Cody Oakland, who was arrested on Tuesday, is now charged with the murder of MacLeod.

He is due to appear in Plymouth Magistrates Court later today.

Bobbi-Anne was reported missing Saturday night and found dead on Tuesday near the coastal path and a parking lot above Bovisand Beach.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the 18-year-old’s family had been informed and supported by specialist officers.

On Thursday, the force said there was “no known link” between MacLeod and the suspect.

Nikki Lieber, the assistant chief of police, said investigators were not looking for anyone else in connection with the killing.

Mrs. McLeod left her home in Legam around 6pm and was last seen waiting at a bus stop near her home as she made her way into town.

Hundreds of people gathered near where she was last seen to hold a candlelight vigil in her memory.

Locals have placed a bunch of candle-dotted flowers over the past few days.

Donna MacLeod, the victim’s mother, was very sad during the vigil but was able to thank the crowd for all the love and support her family has received over the past few days.

“Thank you for doing everything to try and find her and bring our baby home,” she said.
