Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish announced Tuesday that the network will develop a reboot of the Jackass series following the success of the fourth film, Jackass Forever.

Bakish said: ‘We’re working with the creators [Johnny Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine, and Spike Jonze] to continue the partnership with a new series, bringing even more ridiculous antics straight to Paramount+.’

The R-rated four-quel amassed $80.3M at the global box office since February 1 and earned the best reviews of the franchise yet – an 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Jackass Forever was also the most violent and homoerotic of the franchise with several stunts, skits, and pranks solely aimed at the torture of male genitals.

Fans can expect familiar faces from the team – Steve-O, Dave England, Chris Pontius, Wee Man, Danger Ehren, and Preston Lacy – but Knoxville has officially retired from stunts.

‘I can’t afford to have any more concussions. I can’t put my family through that,’ the 51-year-old daredevil told GQ last year of his second wife Naomi Nelson and their children Rocko, 12; and Arlo, 10.

‘You can only take so many chances before something irreversible happens. I feel like I’ve been extremely lucky to take the chances I’ve taken and still be walking around.’
